Objective: To monitor a high-speed 2D measurement sensor
Our client, a manufacturer of metal-formed and thermoformed tubes for the automotive industry, wants to record measurement data from a high-speed 2D measuring sensor for its formed parts. Their goal is to be able to know the values in real time, as well as to have a record to make statistics with them and to be able to adjust the process.
Solution. Design and implementation of data acquisition software
The first step we follow was to study about the 2D measurement sensor that was already installed on our client’s lines. With this information we were able to design the most suitable system for data acquisition.
We selected an Industrial PC to manage data logging and communications, and a large touchscreen monitor for the graphical display of the real-time data in the factory. This PC also dumps the data into a local backup CSV and into an SQL on the plant server. The next step was to install and integrate the system in the client’s factory.

The final step was validation of the system by our client and training on the system we had developed.
The data acquisition software was a success and our client asked us to transfer and install it for other sensors in their plant as well.
