Matrix-fiber bond tensile strength measurement

Problem

The customer believes that some batches of the fabric have less adhesion between the matrix and the fibers.

Objective

Design a test with which to measure the strength of adhesion between matrix and fibers.

ATRIA Solution

A universal testing machine was adapted to be able to carry out tensile tests and measure the force necessary to detach the fibers from the matrix. With this method, it was determined which were the batches with the lowest adhesion, being able to even quantify the percentage of loss of bond strength.
