Problem
In a painting process, aesthetic defects are found in some pieces by carrying out the process continuously in the same way.
Objective
Know the cause or the contamination that produces the aesthetic defects generated during the second coat of paint.
ATRIA Solution
ATRIA replicated with different common contaminants present in manufacturing lines. In this way, several defects similar to the original with silicone contaminants were obtained. Quantitative chemical analyzes were also carried out in different areas of the pieces to compare the presence of contaminants between reference pieces and pieces with the defect.
Finally, the origin of the failure was found and a list of the client’s materials that could intervene in the aesthetic failure was made.
