Objetive. Know biomass and its danger
Our client, a manufacturer of consumer products with its own water treatment plant, produces granular biomass as waste. They need to know the danger of this biomass, how to handle it and under what conditions to store it. They are also interested in determining the most relevant parameters and comparing their quality with that of other commercial biomass in case it would be possible to market this product.
Solution. We characterize the danger and quality of biomass
Firstly, we carry out controlled sampling to carry out both characterizations: danger and quality.
In the case of danger, we carry out the tests established by Annex III of regulation 1357/2014. The objective of this hazard study was to determine if the product was being correctly managed, paying special attention to handling, storage and transportation.
On the other hand, we study the quality indicators of commercial granular biomass to evaluate the possibility of commercializing this byproduct. After carrying out the characterizations, we observed that our client’s by-product biomass had the same characteristics as a marketable biomass, so it was possible to make its management profitable.
As a last step, we prepare a report with all the work carried out and the exploration we carried out of the possible buyers of the granular biomass studying its economic viability.
