Problem
Appearance of irreversible stains on textile products.
Objective
Develop a test capable of simulating stains in the laboratory and characterize these stains to determine their origin.
ATRIA Solution
Several simulation tests were carried out until it was determined that the stain was produced by the joint action of water and temperature for a certain time.
After this, real stains and simulated stains were characterized by different techniques (FTIR, SEM-EDX and XPS).
The results of the characterization allowed to identify the differences between textiles with stain and textiles without stain.
This difference was key in determining a solution to the problem.
